Conductor Inspection

For many years now we have been inspecting conductors and caissons, monitoring corrosive and wear damage.

Most conductors have guide frames to hold the conductors from movement due to tidal motions.

To date all older guide frame have suffered the loss of the insulator between the frame and the conductor. This over time has resulted in metal to metal abrasion which ultimately leads to severe deformation to the conductor and in severe cases the conductor splits and can drop several metres causing the risers within to be exposed.

By combining our inspections with laser measurement we are able to provide very accurate dimensions of the gap between the conductor and the guide frame including out of roundness which culminates in an exact fit clamp manufacture which will fit snugly into place between the conductor and guide frame thus preventing further damage for many years thereafter.
