HPR adds six to team as international expansion accelerates

Aberdeen-based High Performance Robotics (HPR) has expanded its team with six appointments in four months following significant growth across offshore wind, drilling and offshore platform inspection.

The robotics specialist has strengthened its workshop, operations, engineering and project management teams as increased offshore activity drives demand for additional capacity.

Experienced industry professional Gordon Goudie has joined as workshop supervisor, with Arran Gibb appointed operations support technician and Joe Hartley as inspection coordinator.

Matthew Foster has joined as project manager and Declan Emerzian as graduate engineer, while Sarah Goudie has joined in a project support role.

HPR Managing Director Jan Stander said: “We have seen significant growth over the past few months and that is translating directly into investment in our team.

“We have more systems operating offshore and our technicians are spending more time in the field delivering projects, so we need additional resources in the workshop and across the business to support that growth.

“We are bringing together experienced people who know the offshore industry with young talent who can develop with HPR as we grow.”

Gordon brings significant workshop management experience from NOV, while Joe initially worked with HPR as a contractor before joining permanently after making a strong impact on the business.

The appointments of Arran, who recently completed college, and graduate engineer Declan also reflect HPR’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people in the North-east.

Mr Stander added: “Our growth in offshore wind, drilling and platform inspection is creating opportunities both here in Aberdeen and internationally.

“We are investing in our people, our technology and new premises to make sure we have the capacity to support the next stage of HPR’s growth.”

HPR designs, manufactures and deploys compact remotely operated vehicles and subsea robotic systems from Aberdeen, with its technology increasingly being deployed across international energy markets.
