Subsea 7 is set for the launch and official naming ceremony of its new reel-lay vessel Seven Vega, to take place on Saturday.
“When delivered, Seven Vega will be one of the most capable and cost-effective reel-lay vessels in the market and a global enabler for Subsea 7,” the company wrote on its social media.
Subsea 7 placed an order for the Seven Vega with Royal IHC in October 2017.
The keel laying ceremony for the reel-lay vessel took place in Royal IHC shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, the Netherlands, in July 2018, where Subsea 7 revealed the vessel name.
According to Subsea 7’s previous update, the vessel will be capable of installing rigid flowlines including pipe-in-pipe systems from shallow waters to depths of up to 3000m.
Seven Vega will replace Seven Navica, which is expected to be retired from reel-lay operations.
