North-east engineering firm SengS has announced the appointment of a new managing director.
David Benison joins the Ellon-headquartered firm from Norwegian energy service firm Aker Solutions.
He served as head of subsea lifecycle services with Aker Solutions and had responsibility for the service and maintenance of subsea and topside equipment for North Sea assets.
Mr Benison joined Aker Solutions in 1990.
He said: “I’m pleased to have taken on this important strategic role at such an exciting time for SengS and look forward to the chance to strengthen relationships with our customer base, develop the brand identity and identify new opportunities for growth.”
SengS was acquired by Pryme Group in 2016.
It provides engineering services to clients in the North Sea, Norway, Azerbaijan, the Middle East and West Africa.
Pryme, a manufacturer based in Dundee, is majority owned by Simmons and Company International’s private equity fund.
Angus Gray, chief executive at Pryme Group, added: “We are pleased to welcome someone with David’s leadership skills and commercial acumen to help drive the business forward in line with growing confidence in the oil and gas sector.
“David’s expertise and extensive network across the oil and gas industry will create opportunities for the business to move up the supply chain and deal directly with operators and other top-tier customers more frequently.”
