Seabed Geosolutions has been awarded a contract by an undisclosed client for 3D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey in what is said to be a challenging area of the Gulf of Mexico.
Covering 270 square kilometres and in water depths up to 2,100 metres, the survey will start in the third quarter of 2019 and take approximately 4 months to complete.
It will be executed with ocean bottom nodes deployed by remotely operated vehicles and simultaneous source acquisition, with an imaging target that lies beneath a challenging overburden, including complex, overhanging salt bodies.
Stephan Midenet, CEO of Seabed Geosolutions, said: “This latest award illustrates the trust operators place in our expertise in providing the highest quality seismic data in the most complex geologic regions of the Gulf of Mexico, where we have built a track record of successful deliveries on difficult acquisitions. We look forward to safely and reliably facilitating the further development of reserves for our customer.”
