Oil and gas firm Neptune Energy has had its development plans for its Duva and Gjoa projects in the North Sea approved by Norwegian authorities.

The firm’s Norway managing director described it as a “significant milestone” for the business.

Duva is predicted to hold 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe), with 24,000 boe expected from the Gjoa project.

Production is expected to begin in late 2020.

Total recoverable resources are estimated at 120 boe.

Subsea tie-backs will be delivered by TechnipFMC, while the drilling operations will be undertaken by Odfjell Drilling and topside modifications completed by Rosenberg Worley.

Neptune Energy Norge’s managing director Odin Estensen, said: “This is a significant milestone for our business and for the licence partners in Duva and Gjoa.

“With these plans approved, we remain on track for the successful execution of these important projects.
