Helix’ Q7000 Begins DP Trials in Singapore

Helix Energy Solutions’ newbuild semi-submersible well intervention vessel, the Q7000, has started DP trials in Singapore.

According to the company’s social media update, the trials began on Monday.

In addition, Helix entered into a contract with an undisclosed client to deploy the vessel in Nigeria in January 2020.

The Q7000 will be performing subsea workover and integrated well intervention services offshore Nigeria, in an estimated minimum 80-day campaign.

The Q7000 can perform through-riser well intervention and decommissioning operations, a wide range of production enhancement operations as well as well clean up and field development support.

It is equally optimized for well decommissioning including suspension, tubing removal, tree recovery and sea floor clearance.
